Okay so I feel like a faggot for posting here and asking for help but I'm at my wits end. I used the HF no-install prepatched version and everything worked swimmingly. I set up a shortcut to run AA2play with applocale, etc etc.Then my laptop autoupdated from windows 8 to 8.1.

Along with bullshit like my display drivers being incompatible so my brightness was stuck at minimum, all of my AA2 shortcuts were gone (AA2play, AA2 editor). I shrugged and just went into my folder and tried running the exe with applocale, but it wouldn't work. Eventually I gave up, but a few days ago I decided to try again. I went through the setup process again, and ran into a few bumps along the road messed up text, so I found out I had to actually reinstall applocale unplayably slow, so I had to reupgrade my drivers to the most recent ones, breaking my brightness again in the process.The last major issue was a C++ visual library runtime error with AA2play, so I had to run AA2play English with applocale.
